Financial Support

The Stumbling Stones Initiative in Lübeck receives financial support from private donors and sponsors.  Individuals, schools, foundations, associations and clubs can sponsor one or more Stumbling Stones.  From 2012 sponsoring a Stumbling Stone, created by Gunter Demnig, costs 132 Euros.  This includes the cost of embossing and laying the Stumbling Stone in front of the victim’s former residence or place of work.  Any additional costs such as publicity, photocopying, postage, miscellaneous meeting expenses, research work done in various archives, and fees involved with being able to publish documents on our website must be covered by other donations.

It has not been our goal to solicit donations from abroad as we are based in Lübeck and want to involve local people, and apart from that it is expensive to transfer money between non-Euro and Euro-countries.
